The mass shooting occurred just after midnight on July 4, following ComoFest, a popular annual Fourth of July celebration in the area

The suspects, identified as 19-year-old Brandon Williams and 20-year-old Christopher Redic, were charged with murder after confessing to their involvement in the mass shooting. The mass shooting took place on Horne Street, where several hundred people had gathered after the festivities at ComoFest.

According to arrest warrant affidavits, investigators found multiple spent shell casings in various areas near the Como Food Mart at 3417 Horne Street, where the mass shooting unfolded. Surveillance footage from the store’s cameras revealed that many individuals in the crowd were armed with guns.

Based on witness statements and the video evidence, it was determined that a confrontation between a group of individuals on the north end of the parking lot led to the mass shooting. Brandon Williams allegedly initiated the gunfire, firing his handgun at least four times in the direction of a person named JoJo, with whom he had a history of conflict.

During a recorded interview with the police, Williams admitted to being the first shooter and claimed that he did not intend to harm anyone behind JoJo

Christopher Redic also admitted to firing his gun toward the crowd, but he stated that he aimed above the people and didn’t believe he hit anyone.

The victims of the mass shooting were identified as 18-year-old Paul Willis and Gabriella Navarrete, along with 22-year-old Cynthia Santos. The police have not yet determined whose shots caused the casualties.

Both Williams and Redic are currently in custody at the Tarrant County Jail, each facing three murder charges related to the deaths of Willis, Navarrete, and Santos. Their bonds have been set at a total of $1.5 million, with $500,000 for each murder charge.

As of now, it remains unclear whether the suspects have secured legal representation to speak on their behalf. The community is reeling from the tragic event, and authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the mass shooting.
