Manslaughter and homicide cases are charged to Two Maryland suspects
Two suspects have faced manslaughter and homicide charges for killing six road workers in March after crashing into each other in a road with a construction zone.
Maryland Police said Melachi Duane Darnell Brown of Baltimore, and Lisa Adrienne Lea of Randallstown, were indicted on manslaughter and homicide charges associated with the deaths of the highway employees.
Brown and Lea were charged with six counts of negligent homicide, manslaughter resulting in the death of a vulnerable worker while operating a motor vehicle. They were also charged with other traffic violations.
The victims of the deadly crash
1. Rolando Ruiz, 46, of Laurel;
2. Carlos Orlando Villatoro Escobar of Frederick;
3. Jose Armando Escobar of Frederick;
4. Mahlon Simmons III of Union Bridge;
5. Mahlon Simmons II of Union Bridge;
6. and Sybil Lee Dimaggio of Glen Burnie.
Manslaughter and negligent homicide cases are charged against the two suspects for the death of these six highway workers.
