Man convicted to life in jail for raping a 10-year-old in Indiana who later requested an abortion

After entering a plea of guilty on Wednesday, the man accused of raping a 10-year-old girl who had flown to Indiana for an abortion was instantly given a life term in jail.

In an accusation submitted in Franklin County, Ohio, the previous year, Gerson Fuentes, 28, was indicted with 2 separate felonies for rape in a case that gained national attention after Roe v. Wade was overruled. In a discussion with cops, Fuentes—a citizen of Guatemalan—confessed to raping the youngster, as per paperwork submitted to Franklin County Municipal Court.

He was accused of raping a child, and his trial was set to begin in January but was postponed.

Fuentes is going to file as a Tier 3 sexual predator after receiving a life sentence with a chance of parole after 25 years.

According to the prosecution, the victim’s mother accepted the plea deal and the suggested sentence without raising any issues.
