The Collier County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) reported that the incident occurred near the Forest Glen and Golf Course community on Thursday at around 5 a.m.
A man was viciously attacked by a 7-foot alligator during his morning walk in Naples, Florida
The victim, whose identity remains undisclosed, suffered a leg bite from the large reptile. He was swiftly airlifted to a nearby hospital for immediate medical attention.
As of now, there is no information available regarding the man’s current condition. Authorities revealed that one of the deputies on the scene observed the 7-foot alligator retreating toward a nearby lake. The deputy promptly alerted a professional trapper, providing precise details of the alligator’s whereabouts. Following a successful operation, the 7-foot alligator female alligator was safely captured and removed from the community, ensuring the residents’ safety.
Highlighting the prevailing dangers, the CCSO emphasized the ongoing 7-foot alligator mating season and urged caution among residents near bodies of water and vegetation that may serve as potential 7-foot alligator nesting sites. Authorities stated that it remains uncertain whether the attacking female 7-foot alligator had a nest in the vicinity of the incident.
The CCSO advised residents to exercise increased vigilance during dusk and dawn, as 7-foot alligators are most active during these periods
They emphasized the need for individuals to plan their activities accordingly to minimize encounters with these powerful 7-foot alligator creatures.
This alarming incident follows similar 7-foot alligator encounters in recent times, with a 69-year-old woman losing her life to a 7-foot alligator attack near a South Carolina lagoon on Independence Day. Additionally, just last month, a 13-year-old boy narrowly escaped an alligator bite while swimming in an Orlando creek, requiring stitches to treat his leg injury.
