Lori Vallow Daybell, an Idaho mother accused of murdering her two children and conspiring to murder her fifth husband’s first wife, is on trial

Shiflet said that Lori told her in February 2020 that she knew where the children were and that they were safe after they had been reported missing in late 2019. The remains of Lori’s children, Joshua “J.J.” Vallow, 7, and Tylee Ryan, 16, were found on the Idaho property of Chad Daybell, who married Lori Vallow Daybell in November 2019.

Shiflet played an emotional call between the sisters in court, where she accused Lori of putting her children “in the ground like a piece of trash” and dancing on the beach while they were missing.

Lori asked her to consider that Chad had lied and been deceitful and said, “There is nothing okay about killing children.”

After the remains of the children were found, Shiflet spoke out and admitted that she was wrong to support her sister. During the trial, police detective Ray Hermosillo revealed chilling details of the day he found the children’s remains on Chad’s property, and how they had been dismembered and burned.

Chad is also charged in connection with the deaths of J.J., Tylee, and Tammy, Chad’s first wife, who was found dead in October 2019. Her death was initially ruled as “natural causes,” but later deemed “suspicious.” The trial continues, with both Lori and Chad pleading not guilty to all charges.
