The 3 presidential debates scheduled for the general election in 2024 were revealed on Monday by the Commission on Presidential Debates.
Texas State University in San Marcos will host the first debate on September 16. Virginia State University in Petersburg will host the second debate on October 1; the University of Utah in Salt Lake City will host the third debate on October 9.
On September 25, the sole vice presidential debate will be held at Lafayette College in Easton, Pennsylvania.
Co-chairs of the commission Frank Fahrenkopf and Antonia Hernández stated in a statement released with the news that “the United States’ general election speeches, observed live worldwide, are an example for several countries: the chance to hear and see the best candidates address serious problems in a neutral and equitable setting.” “This custom hasn’t changed since 1976.”
