Her manager revealed Claire Hope, better known online as Lil Tay, had passed away in an announcement.
“It is through sadness that we convey the heartbreaking news of our loved Claire’s unexpected and terrible passing,” Hope’s family said on Lil Tay’s Instagram feed, with 3.3 million followers. “The unbelievable grief and awful pain are beyond words to describe. We are all in disbelief at this conclusion, which was completely unexpected.
The loss of her sibling worsens our pain to an impossible extent. Since the facts behind Claire and her brother’s death are still being looked into, we humbly ask for confidentiality as we process this terrible loss. Claire will always hold a special place in our memories, and everyone who loved and knew her will feel her loss as an irreplaceable loss.
