The popular artist Lil Tay passed away at the age of 14 with her brother, though details on how she died are still unclear.
The social media sensation, whose actual name is Claire Hope, became well-known in 2018 as a rapper, a YouTuber, and an online celebrity thanks to her filthy rap songs, in which she boasted about her financial status and used multiple slang at the early age of 9.
In a statement released on Wednesday (August 9), Tay’s family described both her and her younger brother’s deaths as “sudden”.
Lil Tay wrote on his Instagram page, “It is with sorrow that we convey the heartbreaking news of our precious Claire’s unexpected and terrible death.”
“The unimaginable sadness and awful pain are beyond words to describe. We are all in disbelief at this conclusion, which was completely unexpected.
