Life in Texas will soon be impacted by the government shutdown

The U.S. House of Representatives is controlled by Republicans by a small margin, and a number of its most extreme members are delaying efforts to enact budget legislation that is required to keep the government afloat and will run out of funds in 6 days.

In addition to the government’s capacity to pay its debts after October 1 being in jeopardy, the outcome of this impending battle over government funding may also result in some substantial changes in politics at the Capitol. And a few well-known Texans are standing their ground.
