On August 30th, law enforcement received a report about the theft, which occurred at a construction site situated along Parkers Mill Way in Somerset.
A Kentucky woman is now facing multiple charges related to her involvement in the theft of a trailer from a construction site in southern Kentucky
The victim estimated that the stolen trailer contained more than $10,000 worth of equipment. Shortly after the trailer was stolen, two individuals returned to the construction site with the intent of stealing a vehicle. Alerted by their presence, the victims confronted the culprits. During this confrontation, one of the individuals, identified as Ashley Sowder, a 36-year-old Kentucky woman, fled on foot.
Subsequent investigation efforts by sheriff’s deputies involved reviewing surveillance footage from the incident, which helped identify the Kentucky woman, Sowder. Additionally, the vehicle she abandoned at the scene matched the one used during the initial theft.
On August 31st, a tip led law enforcement to a residence on White Oak Church Road in Columbia, located in neighboring Adair County
Kentucky State Police were called in for assistance, and upon arrival at the scene, they discovered the stolen trailer along with all the pilfered items inside. Sowder, the Kentucky woman, was apprehended and subsequently arrested. She now faces charges of receiving stolen property valued at $10,000 or more, resisting arrest, and two outstanding warrants. Sowder, the Kentucky woman, has been placed in custody at the Adair County Regional Jail, and authorities have indicated that further charges related to the case may be forthcoming.
