These charges were officially lodged against Boxley on Friday in Marquette County, according to online court records.
Julie Boxley, a woman previously accused of setting her husband on fire in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula in 2021, now finds herself facing new charges, including first-degree murder and arson, in connection with the tragic death of Glenn Andrews, a prominent meat shop owner
Glenn Andrews, a 72-year-old resident of Ishpeming, met a tragic end in March when his residence was engulfed in flames. Andrews was the proud proprietor of Glenn’s Smokehouse, a local establishment renowned for its specialty meat offerings. He passionately expressed his love for sausages, an appreciation for flavors, and a penchant for culinary experimentation as he showcased his delectable meat products. Julie Boxley, aged 52, is scheduled to appear on November 27 about these new charges.
On Tuesday, inquiries were made with Julie Boxley’s attorneys, who are simultaneously representing her in other ongoing legal matters
It’s worth noting that Julie Boxley was already facing attempted murder charges in Alger County for a separate incident involving her then-husband, James Boxley. In testimony, James Boxley recounted that Boxley poured a flammable substance on him and ignited matches while he was asleep in 2021. In August, a judge determined that there was sufficient evidence to proceed with a trial, with Julie Boxley’s defense attorney, Jennifer France, pointing to Julie Boxley’s history of mental illness as a critical aspect that will be explored in-depth when the forensic center’s findings become available.
