Julia Ormond Files Lawsuit Against Harvey Weinstein Alleging Sexual Assault and Career Sabotage

Julia Ormond has taken legal action against disgraced film producer Harvey Weinstein, accusing him of sexual assault in 1995 and sabotaging her career

Julia Ormond, a rising star in the mid-’90s, alleges that she initially engaged with Weinstein in 1994 for script and project discussions, later entering a production agreement with Miramax, where he served as co-chairman. Julia Ormond asserts that Weinstein sexually assaulted her in December 1995 following a business meeting and subsequently retaliated against her, adversely impacting her career after she confronted him.

Julia Ormond also implicates The Walt Disney Co. and Miramax, contending that they were aware of Weinstein’s misconduct but failed to intervene or assist her. The lawsuit marks Julia Ormond’s first public accusation of sexual assault against Weinstein Weinstein, currently incarcerated in New York following convictions for rape and sexual assault, is appealing his verdicts. His attorney, Imran Ansari, vehemently denies the allegations. Requests for comments from CAA, Disney, and Miramax were unanswered at the time of reporting. Julia Ormond’s filmography includes iconic titles such as “Legends of the Fall” with Pitt, “Sabrina” with Ford, and “First Knight” with Sean Connery and Richard Gere.
