Joran van der Sloot is the main suspect in the disappearance of Natalee Holloway, daughter of Beth Holloway, on May 2005 during a Mountain Brook High School Senior Trip in Alabama.
During the arraignment of Joran van der Sloot, he pleaded not guilty to charges against him. He allegedly of extort and wire fraud in the United States after selling Beth Holloway information regarding the location of the remains of Natalee Holloway.

US prosecutors say Joran van der Sloot demanded $250,000 to $25,000 for the information and the rest to be paid if the body of Natalee Holloway was identified.
But, Joran van der Sloot lied about where the remains of Natalee Holloway were located.
