In a significant development, a Franklin County jury delivered a conviction in the case of the tragic killing of Columbus faith leader, Imam Mohammed Hassan-Adam, back in December 2021 by John Wooden.
The convicted individual, John Wooden, now faces charges of aggravated murder
Imam Hassan-Adam‘s disappearance on December 22, 2021, triggered a widespread search led by both concerned community members and law enforcement. Tragically, his lifeless body was discovered, bearing four gunshot wounds, including ones to the head, neck, and thigh. This grim discovery took place beside his distinctive yellow GMC van, situated near Windsor and Joyce Avenues.
Franklin County Deputy Chief Legal Counsel, Anthony Pierson, expressed a sense of relief after the jury’s decision, emphasizing the significance of accountability for Imam Adam’s murder by John Wooden. Pierson acknowledged the immense efforts put forth by the Columbus Police Department in identifying and apprehending the defendant, despite his attempts to conceal his involvement.

Furthermore, a second suspect, Isaiah Brown-Miller, faces charges in connection to this harrowing incident. Brown-Miller has undergone two trials, both of which resulted in mistrials due to a hung jury in February and again in June. His charges include one count each of kidnapping and aggravated robbery.
