Jason Norris, 47, sparked a tragic sequence of events at the Mentor Green Mobile Estates in Mentor, Ohio

Another resident, Charles Skala, 63, sustained injuries and remained hospitalized in stable condition. Jason Norris, armed with two handguns, initiated the shooting spree, prompting officers’ response. Responding to a 911 call reporting shots fired, police discovered Colon deceased on a roadway, with Mathis fatally wounded nearby. Galizia was found at the scene, and Skala was discovered in his home with gunshot injuries. As officers tended to the victims, Jason Norris targeted them with gunfire but was met with defensive measures, and officers refrained from retaliation.

After barricading himself indoors, Jason Norris remained unresponsive to attempts made by a police negotiation team to communicate with him. At approximately 8:15 p.m., authorities deployed a tactical drone to witness Jason Norris taking his own life.

Residents underwent evacuation amid the shooting but returned to their homes early on Friday. The aftermath of this sorrowful incident, masterminded by Jason Norris, deeply affected the community.
