Jacksonville Jaguars Former Employee Faces Fraud Charges for Allegedly Embezzling $22 Million From the Team for Several Years

A former employee of the Jacksonville Jaguars identified as Amit Patel faced fraud charges after allegedly embezzling a total of $22 million from the team for five years, wherein the Jacksonville Jaguars confirmed that they already terminated the employment of the former employee after suspecting him.

According to a report published in Clutch Points, the former employee started as a coordinator and was eventually promoted to financial manager, which made the former employee more capable of stealing money from the entire team during his years in the position.

From the statement released, the former employee allegedly bought a condominium unit and vehicles and even used the team’s money to spend when traveling alone or with his friends, resulting in the former employee having embezzled a total of $22 million.

Ongoing Investigation Continues After Former Employee of Jacksonville Jaguars Allegedly Embezzled $22 Million from the Team

Following the allegations, the former employee of Jacksonville Jaguars faced multiple charges, including wire fraud after embezzling $22 million from the team during his time as their coordinator and financial manager.

Authorities continued investigating the case regarding how the former employee planned the illegal transactions; however, they ruled out the possibility that other employees were involved, CBS Sports reported.
