An Iraqi man arrested after providing online support to the Islamic State group pleaded guilty in Oregon.
Iraqi Man Arrested for Assisting ISIS Members by Providing Technical Support Online
A 33-year-old Iraqi man named Hawazen Sameer Mothafar was arrested for assisting ISIS members by providing them with technical support online, including creating online materials about their propaganda and recruitment details.
During the investigation, authorities found that the Iraqi man edited publication materials and wrote several articles about how to kill others or encouragements about why readers should be one of them.
The Iraqi man was also accused of helping them distribute the publication materials to several target audiences through emails and various social media platforms and even helped the group with moderating chat rooms for a pro-ISIS online media organization.

Iraqi Man Will be Sentenced to Up to 20 Years in Prison for Helping ISIS with Their Online Materials
The Iraqi man initially pleaded not guilty to supporting ISIS but later pleaded guilty to his crimes and will be sentenced to up to 20 years in prison and a fine worth $250,000, AP News reported.
Following the arrest of the Iraqi man, authorities discovered that ISIS is now focusing on using online platforms to spread its propaganda and recruit potential members through online materials and private messages.
