Iowa man was found guilty by the court of vehicular homicide after hitting another car while drag-racing. The incident resulted in the death of a 4-year-old boy with a beautiful soul.
The homicide victim is remembered as a loving and funny young boy
Robert Lee Miller III had been speeding at around 114 mph. The convicted man raced another car on Fleur Drive in Iowa at about 6 p.m. on Dec. 13, 2022. While driving racing, he struck another vehicle driven by Marya De Catalan, the mother of the homicide victim.
Marya De Catalan had two passengers when the incident happened. The passengers were her son Thiago and nephew Marcos Faguada. The two were brought to the hospital, and the 4-year-old victim eventually died at the hospital.
The judge found Robert Lee Miller III guilty of vehicular homicide by drag racing and reckless driving and of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, resulting in a 4-year-old boy’s death. He was charged with physical injuries for De Catalan.

The Homicide perpetrator will be sentenced in court on July 14, 2o23
Robert Lee Miller III possibly imprison for more than 25 years because operating a car intoxicated and resulting in homicide carries a mandatory sentence of up to 25 years in prison.
Robert Lee Miller III’s co-defendant, Jones, will be tried in a homicide case in court on June 26.
