In a red state, Smith & Wesson relocates

Smith & Wesson, a well-known producer of firearms, has moved its corporate headquarters from New England to Maryville, Tennessee.

Fox Business reports that Smith & Wesson first planted roots in Connecticut in 1852 before relocating to Springfield, Massachusetts. The company currently proudly stands on top of a vast 650,000-square-foot campus in Tennessee. In honor of the relocation, the gun manufacturer held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Saturday.

According to Mark Smith, president and CEO of Smith & Wesson, “the upcoming 170 years of Smith & Wesson appear to be pretty good.” The atmosphere in Tennessee is unique.
