As a role of a Republican-led inquiry into claims of censorship, Jim Jordan, the chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, sued 3 federal organizations on Friday.
James P. Rubin, the Special Envoy and Coordinator for the State Department’s Global Engagement Center, Jen Easterly, the Director of the Agency for Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security (CISA), and Dr. Rochelle Walensky, the Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), all received summons.
To find out if the government agencies “coerced, stressed, performed with, or depended around social media platforms and additional technological companies for the purpose to restrict speech,” Jordan, a Republican from Ohio, is asking them to turn over communications among their organizations and private businesses and outside organizations.
Jordan claimed that the 3 agencies ignored the committee’s plea for voluntary collaboration with them in March and refused to provide any papers in response.
