The threats were reportedly made in connection with the prosecution of former President Donald Trump.
A Huntsville man, Arthur Ray Hanson II has been indicted by a federal grand jury in Atlanta for allegedly issuing threats against Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis and Sheriff Patrick Labat
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Georgia revealed this information. Federal prosecutors stated that Hanson left threatening messages on the customer service lines for Fani Willis and Sheriff Labat during the summer. These messages included caution for Fani Willis to be vigilant when out at night or at home. He insinuated that she might be vulnerable and advised her to stay alert.

Hanson’s voicemails indicated a belief that Trump won the state and expressed his discontent over the former president’s mugshot being taken in Fulton County. Hanson’s threats extended to Labat, cautioning him against taking Trump’s mugshot. He warned that repercussions could follow, emphasizing that a badge would offer no protection.
Appearing in a Huntsville federal court, Hanson faces charges of transmitting interstate threats. His formal arraignment is set for November 13 in Atlanta. U.S. Attorney Ryan K. Buchanan condemned the threats, emphasizing their interference with the administration of justice and the intimidation of public servants. Special Agent in Charge of FBI Atlanta, Keri Farley, stressed that threats against public servants undermine democracy and affirmed the FBI’s commitment to upholding the Constitution and protecting citizens.
