Nashville hotel manager charged with assault for allegedly sucking guest’s toes

Peter Brennan, the guest, said he was awoken at around 5 a.m. on March 30 by a strange sensation on his foot. The 52-year-old manager, David Neal, was identified by the police as the suspect. Brennan said he recognized Neal as one of the two employees who came to his room earlier that day to resolve an issue with his television. Neal claimed he had entered Brennan’s room because he smelled smoke and wanted to check on him.

However, police said there were no other reports of smoke and Neal didn’t report the smell to security. Neal also claimed that he threw the key to the room away, which police were unable to retrieve.

Brennan is suing Hilton Hotels, where he was staying, and says that Neal had a prior criminal history that the company should have known about. Neal had been convicted of involuntary manslaughter, forgery, and drinking and driving in the past.

Brennan’s attorney, Michael Fisher, said that Hilton should have conducted a background check before hiring Neal

Brennan said the incident has left him with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and he has trouble sleeping. He is seeking justice against Hilton, which he said should be held accountable for its negligence. In response, a spokesperson for Hilton said the safety and security of its guests and team members is its highest priority and that the company is working closely with the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department. Neal has been jailed on a $27,000 bond after being arrested at his home in Lebanon.
