The Texas border wall that is presently floating in the Rio Grande is receiving criticism from the head of Homeland Security.
According to Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, blocking refugees’ access to the country does not reflect the history of the US.
Greg Abbott, the governor of Texas, has been under fire from Mayorkas for promoting the idea that asylum seekers are moving across the border.
He stated that immigrants have the right to request asylum right away as they step foot on American land at the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials convention this week.
