Gavin Newsom, governor of California, claims that Democrats must “move past” their concerns regarding whether Joe Biden would run for re-election

As legal filing deadlines approach, Democratic California Governor Gavin Newsom believes it is the right moment for the party to “move past” rumors regarding whether President Joe Biden will pursue his 2024 presidential reelection campaign.

“Filing deadlines weren’t passed, Why won’t we think of you as a potential candidate if President Biden fails to run [for president]?” Chuck Todd, host of Meet the Press, questioned Newsom.

We have to get past the idea that the Vice President won’t run, Newsom said. “I believe the Vice President is one signed up and the filing deadlines are soon approaching,” he added. President Biden will run, and we are excited to help him win reelection.”

As he routinely attracts national interest with legislation and his liberal beliefs, the governor has regularly been mentioned as a future presidential contender for Democrats.
