According to information close to the situation, former Vice President Mike Pence appeared on Thursday before a federal grand jury looking into the events following the 2020 election and the activities of former president Donald Trump along with others, according to CNN.

It is the very first occasion in modern history that a vice president was required to provide evidence regarding the president he worked next to and the hearing comes at a crucial point in the criminal inquiry.

CNN said that Pence appeared for over 5 hours. Although adviser Marc Short failed to verify the testimony on Thursday, he did discuss the legal issues surrounding it.

I believe the vice president has a personal case depending on the debate and speech Clause, as you may know. In a post-trial interview with NewsNation, Short stated, “He was thrilled to see the very first time the jury agreed that it belonged to the vice president of the United States. But he was prepared to follow the law, and the law would have mandated that he testify.

Before January 6, 2021, Pence was prepared to recall his interactions with Trump for the initial time beneath court.
