Former President Donald Trump posted more than a $5.5 million cash deposit as he will appeal the court’s decision that favors E. Jean Carroll for sexual abuse and defamation case.

Former President Trump will appeal the $5 million verdict of the court that found him guilty of sexually abusing E. Jean Carroll, a New York author in the 1990s.

The former president received permission from a juror to transfer $5.55 million (equal to 110% of the civil judgment) to a federal court in New York while he appeals the court’s verdict

The ex-president will get the cash deposit back if he wins the appeal.

Jean Carroll, a New York author, 79, claimed that ex-president Trump raped her in a dressing room at a department store in 1996 and stained her reputation last year by calling the complainant a liar.

The jurors composing six men and three women found ex-president Trump liable for sexual abuse and defamation after hearing from nearly a dozen witnesses during a twelve days trial.

The ex-president Trump immediately decided to appeal the decision of the jurors.
