Kim Potter, a former Minnesota Police Officer sentenced to two years for killing Daunte Wright released from prison on Monday.

The Minnesota Department of Corrections stated Kim Potter, a former Minnesota Police Officer, left the correctional establishment at about 4 a.m. Monday. The institution had announced on Friday that she served her sentence and had released Monday.
A former Minnesota Police Officer from Brooklyn Center Police fatally shot and killed Daunte Wright during a traffic stop in April 2021. The shooting incident transpired during Derek Chauvin, the officer who is the suspect in killing George Floyd. Days of protests because of Wright’s death.
Daunte Wright, 20 years old, and a father was shot and killed on April 11, 2021, after police officers dragged him over for having an expired license and an air freshener hanging from his mirror.
Police Officers discovered he had a pending warrant for an illegal weapons possession charge. A former Minnesota Police Officer shot him during a struggle in trying to arrest him.

Minnesota Police Officer two-year sentence Murdered Daunte Wright Again
During a Minnesota Police Officer sentencing in court, Kim asked Wright’s family for forgiveness and said directly to Wright’s mother: “I’m sorry I broke your heart. My heart is also broken and distressed for all of you.”
The mother of Wright said that the sentence given to Minnesota Police Officer murdered him all again.
