Ken Paxton, the state attorney general who is under fire, was nominated for indictment by a Texas House of Representatives investigation committee.

Based on FOX 4, the Texas House Investigative Committee adopted Paxton’s charges of indictment with a 5-0 vote on Thursday.

The suggestion might be put to a vote as early as this Friday.

In Texas, Paxton has to quit office right away before a Senate trial if he were to be impeached by the House.

In connection with allegations that the attorney general utilized his position to help an individual, Paxton has been investigated by the FBI in a corruption case that is currently in committee. He was also charged with securities theft and other crimes in 2015, but his case hasn’t gone to trial yet.

As a result of false allegations that an attempt to steal $200 million worth of Nate Paul’s assets was underway, several employees in Paxton’s office started to worry that the attorney general was abusing his authority to support Nate Paul, a donor.
