Following a rise of migrants, Governor Abbott will press for border security measures in the upcoming special session

Governor Greg Abbott claims he would include a demand for border security legislation in his special session call, which is expected to start in October, in response to an increase in unauthorized migrants crossing the U.S.-Mexico border.

In an interview with Fox News on Wednesday, Governor Abbott said that a minimum of 1 border-related matter, involving claims that a neighborhood outside of Houston offers permanent homes to illegal immigrants only, was going to be on his agenda for the special session.

Abbott stated that whether or not the claims are genuine, legislative hearings will be held when a special session is called and laws dealing with the issue are submitted. What we can do to prevent it if they are true, if so.”
