The pursuit began following a “be on the lookout” alert issued by the Collier County Sheriff’s Office concerning a stolen Range Rover heading east on Alligator Alley on Saturday afternoon.

Subsequently, the abandoned Range Rover was located near Mile Marker 30 on I-75 in Broward County. The occupants then swiftly switched to a black Mercedes-Benz sedan and continued their journey eastward.
Shortly after, Florida Highway Patrol troopers identified the speeding Mercedes, clocking in at an astonishing 140 miles per hour on I-75. This prompted a pursuit, which culminated in a strategic PIT maneuver near the Flamingo Road exit off I-595, just before 2:50 p.m. The maneuver was successfully captured by a trooper’s dashboard camera.

This trio now faces a series of serious charges, including reckless driving, fleeing and eluding, grand theft auto, and possession of burglary tools.
Law enforcement authorities suspect the three individuals were involved in a spree of robberies and vehicle thefts spanning across southeast and southwest Florida. The swift and efficient action taken by the Florida Highway Patrol undoubtedly prevented further criminal activity.
