The Truth or the Two by Twos are common names for the church, even though it doesn’t have an official name.
A recent incident involving sexual assault shocked the group, exposing the identities of hundreds of suspected abusers to a hotline established for survivors.
An ex-minister who molested a youngster in the 1980s had “no excuse” to be alarmed by the FBI investigation.
The report from this past month examined allegations of decades-long child sexual abuse inside the church.
When pressed, one former minister, Robert Corfield, acknowledged that during the 1980s he had molested a youngster in Canada named Michael Havet.
According to Mr. Corfield, there is no FBI inquiry ongoing.
“I’m simply putting it all in the hands of God and prepared to embrace anything he chooses to take place, so I’m not worried about it,” he stated on Wednesday.
His name is one of over seven hundred people who have submitted to a hotline named Advocates for The Truth (AFTT) to report instances of sexual assault that have occurred inside the church.
The FBI announced that they were “looking for the public’s assistance to locate victims of assault that took place inside a religious group” in an announcement.
“Dates back to the 1980s” was the statement made on the abuse.
According to the authority, the group is commonly known as 2×2, The Way, The Truth, and The Church with No Name, yet it “commonly doesn’t have a name.”
The AFTT has praised the inquiry. American women Cynthia Liles, Lauren Rohs, and Sheri Autrey started the team a year ago.
The Truth was formerly home to all of the ladies, and according to Ms. Rohs and Ms. Autrey, a single man mistreated them all.
The FBI inquiry provides survivors who have been suppressed by their community for generations with legitimacy and the possibility of justice. A community that must have surrounded survivors with unwavering love, security, and group support,” an official statement from AFTT claimed.
