In keeping with his promise to dedicate the majority of his riches to philanthropy, billionaire Warren Buffett has given over $870 million in Berkshire Hathaway stock to 4 philanthropic foundations. This holiday custom is noteworthy.
The Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation, a nonprofit that funds family planning and reproductive wellness initiatives, received 1.5 million Class B shares of the Oracle of Omaha’s conglomerate, the business announced in a statement on Tuesday. Additionally, he gave 300,000 Class B stocks to the Howard G. Buffett Foundation, the NoVo Foundation, the Sherwood Foundation, and the 3 companies his children manage.
Buffett stated in a statement on Tuesday that the contributions “add to some of the lifelong promises I made in 2006 and that remain till my death (at 93, I am happy but realize that I am playing in extra innings)”.
