Donald Trump’s lawyers asked to narrow the protective order proposed by prosecutors against the former president, which will prevent him from disclosing important materials during the trial on his alleged involvement in trying to subvert the results as his way to winning the 2020 presidential election.
According to a report published in Law and Crime, Donald Trump’s lawyers claimed that the protective order should have been narrowed as Donald Trump’s lawyers denied that the former president tried to release sensitive materials to the public just like the prosecutors claimed when he posted threatening messages online.
Following the claims, Donald Trump’s lawyers revealed that the former president was not pertaining to the current case when he posted the threatening messages, saying that he would come after them if they came after him, wherein Donald Trump’s lawyers claimed that it was his response to other groups.
Donald Trump’s Lawyers Describe Federal Court Biased Following Fast Approval of Protective Order Against Him
Due to the fast approval of the proposed protective order against the former president, Donald Trump’s lawyers described the federal court as biased as it only took the prosecutors a day to have their proposal approved.
While seeking the narrow protective order, Donald Trump’s lawyers also seek a fair and unbiased judgment and treatment for the former president during his trial, USA Today reported.
