Danelo Cavalcante, the escaped murderer, remains the center of attention in Chester County, Pennsylvania
The district attorney of Chester County, Deb Ryan, held a press conference on Saturday to provide updates on the situation. According to Ryan, there is a strong belief that Danelo Cavalcante, who had been convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to life in prison last month, is currently hiding within a two-mile radius of the Chester State Prison.
Local residents have been urged to take precautions, with authorities advising them to stay indoors and keep their doors locked. Law enforcement officials have been working tirelessly, responding to over 100 tips from concerned citizens in the area. Some reports even suggest that Danelo Cavalcante may have committed a burglary since his escape.
Danelo Cavalcante, who is described as a five-foot-tall man, was last seen on a Ring doorbell camera in the wooded area of Pocopson Township
He was wearing shorts, a white T-shirt, white sneakers, and a backpack, which he had put on over his prison-issued clothing. This escape has prompted a temporary shutdown of several local businesses as a safety measure, including Longwood Gardens and the Brandywine Museum of Art. Even West Chester University canceled its classes on Friday due to the ongoing manhunt for Danelo Cavalcante.
The escaped murderer had been scheduled for a transfer to a state correctional facility to serve his life sentence when he made his daring escape on Thursday morning. Authorities are urging residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities, as they work tirelessly to bring Danelo Cavalcante back into custody.
