Danelo Cavalcante Evades Capture, Now Sought in Stolen Vehicle, Authorities Say

Recent reports suggest he has successfully evaded the search area, altered his appearance, and is now being pursued in a stolen vehicle.

Danelo Cavalcante, an escaped murderer, has managed to evade authorities for over a week since his breakout from a prison in southeastern Pennsylvania

Pennsylvania State Police disclosed that Danelo Cavalcante was spotted near Phoenixville in northern Chester County, a significant distance from the previous search zone. However, new leads indicate he may have moved again.

Danelo Cavalcante, now sporting a clean-shaven look, was last seen in a yellow or green hooded sweatshirt, a black baseball cap, green prison pants, and white shoes. Danelo Cavalcante was driving a pilfered 2020 White Ford Transit van, identifiable by its refrigeration unit on the roof and bearing Pennsylvania registration ZST8818. The van was reported stolen by Baily’s Dairy between 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. on Saturday. Baily’s Dairy has been cooperating with law enforcement in the ongoing investigation.

Prosecutors allege he sought to silence her from reporting his involvement in a killing in Brazil. As the search intensifies, authorities have cautioned the public, emphasizing Danelo Cavalcante’s extreme danger.

The extensive manhunt spans southeastern Philadelphia suburbs, farmland, and the sprawling Longwood Gardens botanical park. Despite the ongoing search, the annual mushroom festival in Kennett Square proceeded as planned with heightened safety measures in effect. An on-duty prison tower guard was dismissed following Danelo Cavalcante’s daring escape, which went unnoticed for over an hour. The incident has garnered international attention and has become a major news story in Brazil, where Danelo Cavalcante is accused of a 2017 homicide.
