The court sentenced a California man named Jose William Lara, 61, to 25 years to life in prison after murdering a woman that was missing for ten years.

Jose William Lara, a California man, was sentenced to 25 years to life imprisonment

The California man was guilty of murdering a woman whose body was found after being buried in his backyard for ten years. He stabbed Desiree Thompson to death. The victim was a mother of four.

The victim left her home in California City at about 6 in the evening on Jan. 7, 2012, to visit a friend, and had her last conversation with her mother around 8:30 p.m.

Desiree Thompson’s missing case remained a mystery for more than ten years until reliable informants with information about her disappearance came to the police.

The informants reported that Jose William Lara had said to them what crime he committed on 2012

The informant information assisted police by providing leads that helped the case of Desiree Thompson be solved. The California man allegedly boasted to his friend at a soccer game about killing and burying Thompson.

The California man allegedly told his friend that he brought Thompson home, offered her beer, and banged Thompson’s head against his refrigerator before stabbing her. The California man allegedly buried Thompson in his backyard. Evidence at the trial hearing showed that her blood was found in a California man’s bedroom.
