Branded unconstitutional: The razor-wire fence separating Texas and New Mexico

A legislator from New Mexico called the razor wire fence constructed across the state’s border with Texas “unconstitutional.”

The barrier was installed across some of the Texas-New Mexico state lines by Texas Governor Greg Abbott’s National Guard, the most recent action taken by the Republican to stop immigrants from accessing his state.

Around the New Mexico city of Sunland Park, which connects to a border with El Paso, Texas, guard personnel added concertina wire to the barrier to strengthen it.

Abbott stated on X, formerly known as Twitter, that “our barriers near El Paso pushed the migrants entering illegally to get into New Mexico.”
