Biden says he will soon travel to Hawaii to support the recovery work in Maui

U.S. President Joe Biden announced on Tuesday he will visit Hawaii “as quickly as I could” to look at the response to the flames that destroyed Maui and left scores of people dead.

Biden didn’t specify state he was going to Maui when he spoke at a business conference in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, as a gesture to White House worries that he not get involved in the current attempt to recover additional dead from demolished structures.

Authorities in the White House were debating the details of a presidential trip. Josh Green, the governor of Hawaii, and Biden reportedly planned a visit.

Biden stated, “My wife Jill and I are planning a trip to Hawaii as quickly as we can,” adding, “I don’t want anything getting in the path.”

“I want to check to see if we have all we need. I want to make sure we are not interfering with the attempts to recover,” he added.
