Power the Future (PTF), an energy advocacy organization, sued the Biden administration on Tuesday for violating the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) by allegedly withholding information about Special Presidential Envoy for Climate (SPEC) John Kerry’s taxpayer-funded staff.
PTF named the State Department as a defendant in the complaint, which was filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. The lawsuit claims that the organization, which is home to the multimillion-dollar SPEC office, has resisted congressional monitoring of the issue and has repeatedly failed to release the names and job titles of Kerry’s staff members.
PTF Executive Director Daniel Turner sent a statement to Fox News Digital that said, “For almost 3 years, John Kerry was jet-setting on the international climate conference circuit and sending taxpayers the bill.”
