The family lawyer for 2 Gilgo Beach victims asked if the wife of alleged serial killer Rex Heuermann had been in the area longer than police had believed, speculating that she might have even been present for one of the murders.
Attorney John Ray attacked Suffolk County District Attorney Ray Tierney’s assertion that Heuermann’s divorced wife Asa Ellerup was out of town for each of the killings on Tuesday night at a St. John’s University in Queens event.
The loved ones of Shannan Gilbert and Jessica Taylor are represented by Ray, who says he met with a hotel manager in Atlantic City who stated Ellerup and her kids arrived at the scene later than the police believe, indicating they might have been in town for at least one of the killings.
