An eight-hour manhunt for the suspected gunman involved in a mass shooting in the bustling heart of Atlanta ended with his arrest

Patterson was found in a suburban condo complex, arrested, and charged with one count of murder and four counts of aggravated assault. The motive for the shooting remains unknown. The shooting marks the 192nd mass shooting in the United States with four or more people shot, excluding the gunman, according to the Gun Violence Archive. Four of the five victims were taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, with two still in critical condition.

Her family remembered St. Pierre as a loving wife, mother, and compassionate person

Patterson’s mother has since apologized to the families of the victims and said she is advocating for her son. She has also warned others not to disregard those with mental illness. The attack, which took place at a healthcare facility, has also affected the shot patients. The doctor treating them said the emotional trauma caused by the shooting would have a significant impact.
