Based on the most recent WARN data, California is currently the state with the highest layoffs in the United States.
According to the most recent report, California will have lost 54,439 workers by 2023.
Additionally, California has received 923 WARN warnings so far this year, which are alerts of several other impending layoffs in the state.
The Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act of 1988 is a U.S. labor legislation that mandates most firms with 100 or more employees to give notice 60 calendar days in advance of scheduled closures and mass layoffs of workers to safeguard workers, their families, and communities.
Accordingly, there will be several additional layoffs in California before the year is over.
