As the border problem gets worse before the 2024 presidential election, President Biden’s terrible approval ratings about his management of immigration continue to torture him.
A recent Monmouth University survey made public on Tuesday, shows that 76% of Americans disagree with Biden’s immigration policies, while only 26% say they agree.
By party, slightly more than half of Democrats (54%) stated they agreed with Biden’s immigration policies, compared to just 21% of independents and 2% of Republicans.
Additionally, only 38% of respondents to the poll agreed with Biden’s overall performance as president, while 58% disagreed. The figures for Vice President Kamala Harris were comparable, with 35% in favor and 58% against.
Only 17% of Americans believe the nation is headed in the right way, while 69% believe it is not, and only 14% approve of Congress’s work performance in comparison to 79% who disagree.
In December, there were a record 302,000 migrant interactions at the southern border, according to confirmation from Customs and Border Protection (CBP) the previous month. This figure beat the monthly record set in September and represents the first time the number has ever exceeded 300,000.
It is almost the entire population of Cincinnati, Ohio. The incredible figure was sufficient to pack the Las Vegas Super Bowl for over 4 and a half times. About two-half of the contacts took place in between ports of entry.
Since the issue broke out in 2021, the figures were the most recent arrivals from the southern border. In FY 23, there were more than 2.4 million encounters with migrants, following a record-breaking FY 22.
