The Hollywood Police Department confirmed the arrest of Jordan Burton on Saturday afternoon.
A suspect has been apprehended in connection with the Memorial Day mass shooting that took place on Hollywood Broadwalk in Florida
Additionally, arrest warrants have been issued for two other individuals believed to be involved in the shooting: Ariel Cardahn Paul and Lionel JeanCharles Jr.
The suspects are facing various charges, including first-degree attempted murder, eight counts of second-degree attempted murder, and carrying a concealed firearm. The incident occurred just before 7 p.m. on Memorial Day, resulting in a chaotic scene as people desperately sought shelter amidst the crowded beach. Police stated that the shooting originated from a confrontation between two groups that rapidly escalated into gunfire.
While seven of the injured victims have been discharged from the hospital, two individuals still require medical attention
In the immediate aftermath of the shooting, authorities had already detained two other suspects, Keshawn Paul Stewart and Morgan Deslouches, on charges related to possessing weapons. Both individuals, aged 18, were taken into custody.
The Hollywood Beach community and visitors were shaken by the tragic incident, which disrupted what should have been a joyful holiday gathering. Law enforcement officials continue their investigation into the motive behind the shooting and are diligently working to ensure the safety and security of the area.
