Restraining Order bars Reporter from contacting Arizona State Senator Wendy Rogers at her residence
Senator Wendy Rogers filed a complaint to the Flagstaff Justice Court that Camryn Sanchez, a Reporter for Arizona Capitol Times, seemingly investigated Senator Wendy Rogers and contacted her at her home. Rogers posted about the incident on Twitter.
Senator Wendy Rogers stated in the Flagstaff Justice Court that Reporter Sanchez went and rang the doorbell at her properties close to the Capitol. She also allegedly said that on April 18, the reporter asked the question of an electrician who works for her and also her husband about her whereabouts. She added that the reporter approached her on the Senate floor in February and persisted in asking questions of her even when rejected.
According to the published article in Azcentral, Senator Wendy Rogers also told the court that she didn’t know what Sanchez was capable of and that no person in their right mind would go to a house uninvited late at night. Therefore, she didn’t trust reporter Sanchez.
Flagstaff Justice Court Magistrate Judge Amy Criddle’s Decision
On April 19, 2023, Flagstaff Justice Court Judge Amy Criddle signed the restraining order against reporter Camryn Sanchez, petitioned by Senator Wendy Rogers. The Judge’s decision doesn’t seem to show Sanchez doing whatsoever out of the ordinary in her work as a reporter.
