On Monday, January 6, 2025, Luis Angle Gerardo Urias, a 27-year-old resident of Phoenix, Arizona, stood before Chief U.S. District Court Judge Christina Reiss in the U.S. District Court for the District of Vermont. He received a sentence of 70 months in federal prison for his involvement in the Conspiracy to Distribute Methamphetamine, to which he had previously pleaded guilty.

Agents from the Department of Homeland Security Investigations conducted a thorough investigation that revealed the involvement of Gerardo Urias and his co-conspirators in the shipment of methamphetamine to Vermont. Additionally, they distributed the drug to an undercover operative in Arizona and received drug proceeds in both cash and money transfers from Vermont.
On March 15, 2023, federal agents conducted an investigation that led them to Gerardo Urias’s residence in Phoenix, Arizona. Acting on a court-authorized search warrant, the agents discovered and confiscated two firearms belonging to Gerardo Urias – a 9mm semi-automatic handgun and an assault rifle. Additionally, they found ammunition for both firearms during the search.
