Alissa McCommon, originally arrested on September 8 for child sex assault, was accused of breaching the no-contact provision of her $25,000 bond.
Alissa McCommon, a 38-year-old elementary school teacher from Covington, Tennessee, faced a re-arrest following allegations that she violated her bond conditions by sending a threatening message to her 12-year-old alleged victim
She allegedly messaged the boy using an unfamiliar number and employed specific code words previously used in explicit photo exchanges. The new charge includes coercion of a witness, aggravated stalking, tampering with evidence, and harassment. Alissa McCommon’s initial arrest arose after several underage victims disclosed inappropriate interactions with their former teacher, including invitations to play video games and connections on social media platforms.
Formerly an English and Language teacher at Charger Academy, Alissa McCommon was suspended without pay on August 24, ultimately resigning. The allegations emerged when a parent reported misconduct, prompting the immediate suspension pending an investigation.
The inappropriate behavior did not occur on school grounds, Alissa McCommon admitted to engaging in improper conversations with her former students
The Tipton County Sheriff’s Office collaborated with CPD detectives, leading to McCommon’s admission of a past sexual encounter with one of her former students. Covington Police Chief Donna Turner expressed concern over McCommon’s actions and potential violations of her bond conditions. Authorities will seek bond revocation and vigorously pursue additional charges. Alissa McCommon is presently held without bond awaiting her appearance in Tipton County General Sessions Court.
