Young quarterback Will Grier was going to be the odd guy to miss the Dallas Cowboys with starting Dak Prescott and dependable backup Cooper Rush currently on the roster while the Cowboys completed a deal for San Francisco 49ers quarterback Trey Lance this week. But he was given one last chance to work with the group, and he took full advantage of it.

Will Grier was told that he would be released from the squad by Tuesday, but the Dallas Cowboys allowed him the opportunity to play the full camp game over the Las Vegas Raiders, allowing him to perform live for different NFL teams. And it’s reasonable to assume that he took full use of his chance.

Grief completed 29 of 35 passes for 305 yards and 2 touchdowns in the air to conclude the game. In addition, he ran for 53 yards and 2 touchdowns on ten carries, guiding the club to points on all of their trips into the danger zone.
