Officials issued several arrest warrants after surveillance video captured a violent battle erupting on a well-liked riverfront wharf in Montgomery, Alabama, on Saturday when an individual was repeatedly hit and shoved to the ground.
Footage of the scene shows a Black man interacting with a group of White males on the dock before they become physical and begin punching him. A witness identified the Black person as a worker. Video of the incident became viral online as it turned into a large-scale battle with individuals getting hit with chairs, punched, and the least of them getting thrown into the water.
Police arrived on the site after being called, when they discovered “a large group of suspects involved in a physical fight. Charges are pending against several persons who have been arrested, based on a police department news release. To provide further details on the incident, authorities intend to host a news conference Tuesday afternoon.
