A grand jury in Winona County has returned an indictment against Fravel, accusing him of two counts of first-degree murder.
Adam Taylor Fravel now faces first-degree murder charges in the tragic death of Madeline Kingsbury
Prosecutors argue that the killing was premeditated and took place within a pattern of domestic abuse. Additionally, Adam Taylor Fravel is charged with two counts of second-degree murder. Adam Taylor Fravel has been in custody at the Olmsted County Adult Detention Center since his arrest in June, shortly after the discovery of Kingsbury’s body. Despite initial denials of involvement in her disappearance, the investigation has led to these serious charges.
The case garnered national attention when Kingsbury went missing on March 31, prompting a nearly 10-week search. Tragically, her body was discovered in Mabel, Minnesota, not far from property owned by Fravel’s parents.
The last known interaction between Kingsbury and Adam Taylor Fravel occurred when they dropped off their young children at daycare on the morning of March 31
Adam Taylor Fravel claimed that Kingsbury was supposed to pick up their kids that afternoon, but she never did. However, daycare records contradict this claim, stating that she never contacted Fravel to request him to pick up the children. Unsealed search warrants from July revealed that friends and family were aware of the abusive relationship between Kingsbury and Fravel. Some individuals reported Adam Taylor Fravel making disturbing remarks, including a reference to the tragic case of social media influencer Gabby Petito, who was killed by her boyfriend in 2021. According to court records, police believe that Fravel murdered Kingsbury after she revealed her intention to leave their shared home in Winona and start a new relationship.
